Brand new MB claim 229.52 for Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30!
ExxonMobil has been operating closely with Mercedes-Benz for decades in the development of the newest engines. This cooperation is also visible through the enhanced partnership with F1-team Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. Mobil1 ESP 0W-30 has been developed to meet the latest Mercedes-Benz and BMW specifications.
It is the highest order MB low-ash spec which reads down to all previous low ash specs. MB 229.52 covering MB 229.51 and 229.31. This spec demands on high oxidation stability to ensure long ODIs also addressing the use of biofuels. Moreover, there is a Proof of Fuel Economy benefit. MB 229.52 requires FE benefit of min 1% over a 5W-30 reference oil.
