Situation

The ABC DZ 6 cilinder engine of the 0.33 Marbi used in the past a standard SAE 30 engine oil. During maintenance and checkups, it was often determined that the engine showed a significant pollution under the form of oil remainders and sludge. The sludge tended to harden and was hard to remove. This resulted in additional maintenance hours and in term a shorter lifespan of the engine.

Recommendation

Ingelbeen Soete, authorized distributor of Mobil Lubricants, suggested to switch to Mobilgard ADL 30. Mobilgard ADL 30 has specially balanced additives which gives the oil outstanding detergent-dispersive characteristics. The Mobilgard also offers a high resistance against varnish under extreme circumstances and prevents development of sludge. The Mobilgard also has the approval of ABC for the use in their engines.

Results and advantages

Every 2000 working hours an engine inspection is scheduled. On the places where with the use of the standard oil was found sludge and varnish, now only was discovered oil residue. Because of the higher cleanliness of the engine, it will have a longer lifespan and will have less maintenance costs and interruptions.
