Situation

Vanheede Environment Group is one of the leaders in Benelux and northern France in the field of sustainable, efficient and economic solutions for waste management. Since 2014 they have been using a bale press for PMD material on the site in Rumbeke. Oil analysis’ of the hydraulic oil HVLP 46 already showed after 6 months that the viscosity had decreased and that a high degree of aging (oxidation) had already occurred. Within two years, several expensive revisions to cylinders had to be carried out. These revisions could be linked to the decreased oil quality. From that moment on, Vanheede was advised to change the oil every 6 months.

Recommendation

After a thorough study Ingelbeen-Soete advised the switch to Mobil DTE 10 Excel 46 hydraulic oil in order to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership of the press.
This hydraulic oil has excellent oxidation stability and a high, shear stable viscosity index, which guarantees the viscosity over a wide temperature range and for a long time.
